This project was long in the making. We worked several months with the homeowners to finalize the material (metal or no, shake versus imitation shake) and the color. A classic cabin feel was wanted, and the soft green of this imitation shake is both a statement in the winter months, and a natural extension of the surrounding woods come summer. While any pattern of shake can be laid, the homeowners wanted a randomized look and so our team was able to get creative with the design of the offset. Bronze ice catches were installed just over the entrance to the front porch, as well as a new, darker gutter in the back to replace the stark white gutter that came with the house. The chimney was newly flashed, preventing and circumventing a leak that had occurred in the location previously.
